Living in Bedford

Bedford is a small English town, about 10 miles from Cranfield campus, with plenty of atmosphere.

With buses running from the University to Bedford, many students choose this as an off-campus accommodation option. There are plenty of things to see and do – from museums and historic buildings, to beautiful outdoor spaces, sports centres and late-night entertainment. Shops, street markets and all styles of restaurants, cafés and bars are abundant. The pretty River Ouse runs through the town.

“I love spending my time picking out fresh fruits and vegetables at the weekend markets in Bedford. It’s right by the river which is really nice, so I just pass the day there before heading back to cook myself some good food.”

student, (Future Food Sustainability MSc)
