Living in Cranfield village
If you’re looking for a quieter area than the local towns and cities, Cranfield village is very close to the Cranfield campus and is the perfect countryside setting.
Located on the other side of the Cranfield campus airfield, Cranfield village is a very popular student accommodation option, with a good choice of privately‑rented houses, flats and lodgings. You can cycle to the campus on the dedicated cycle path in ten minutes; arrive by bus in five minutes or walk in 30 minutes. Cranfield offers a wide range of amenities, including supermarkets, takeaway restaurants, chemist, post office and hairdresser. Added attractions of the village are Rectory Wood and Marston Thrift (an ancient woodland that is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest) – great for walking, running and enjoying the countryside. There are also several schools for all ages for those with children. In addition to Cranfield, other nearby villages with accommodation include Wootton, North Crawley and Marston Moretaine

“If you are nervous about living in private accommodation, I’d encourage students to reach out to current and other future students. You can do that on social media or Facebook in the Cranfield Student Group. You can also reach out to other students on SpareRoom as well and just to ask some questions and what concerns you have.”

current student, (Environmental Management for Business MSc)
