Popular sports clubs include badminton, cricket, basketball, football and rugby. There is an Astronomical society, plenty of music groups and events as well as aerospace-related societies such as CranSEDS. Religious groups include the Christian Union and the Islamic Society. There are also several activities and clubs you can join in nearby towns.
Student Ambassadors
Chat to one of our students online to get a student viewpoint about studying at Cranfield. You can search by course and/or country to find someone to talk to.
There are also opportunities to become involved as a ‘Student Ambassador’ once you arrive at Cranfield and have a say about your student experience, as well as liaising with future students to share your knowledge about studying at Cranfield.
Cranfield Students’ Association
As a student of Cranfield University, you are automatically a member of Cranfield Students’ Association (CSA), a student-led, democratic organisation that operates at both Cranfield and Shrivenham. The CSA is here to represent and support students, and to enhance your student experience in many ways.
CSA representatives sit on almost all University committees, providing a student voice throughout the University. It provides advice and support, and can signpost students to specialised services if required.
The CSA runs a wide range of activities and entertainment, day trips, sports clubs and social societies. Many of these are run by students, providing opportunities for personal development and experience.
For more information and a list of clubs and societies, visit the CSA website and check the social media channels below:
Student charter
Our charter sets out how the University, our students and the Cranfield Students’ Association work together to enable you to get the most out of your Cranfield experience.
“The Cranfield Students' Association's clubs and societies are the best way to take time off your routine academic work and be involved with something else you are passionate about. Joining these groups is a good way to make friends outside your course and an opportunity to take up leadership positions that will certainly look good on your CV.”
