Finance your studies
A Cranfield degree is an investment in your career and a significant financial commitment. We know that this is often an important factor in making a decision about your studies. Several funding options, loans, bursaries and scholarships are available.
Many of our taught degree students fund their studies by putting together a funding package drawn from savings, small grants, loans or bursaries. Working with you, we can suggest a package that suits your course and circumstances.

"The Chevening scholarship is life-changing. It is giving me the opportunity of achieving my dreams and to make a positive change in my home country. Chevening will not finish once I finish my studies, but when I contribute with the knowledge gained during my MSc in Aerospace Materials to Mexico’s development.”

Paying for your research degree
Please see the other headings on this page and our website about the various ways you can fund your research degree.
Please note that, for some research degrees, there may be additional costs (known as bench fees, or direct operational costs), which will be explained during the application process.
Tuition fee deposits
All taught and research courses require a deposit, unless evidence of sponsorship from an organisation accepted by Cranfield can be provided.
Fee status – home or overseas fees?
The status of the fees you pay are determined with reference to the UK Government regulations. As a guiding principle, UK or Irish nationals who are ordinarily resident in either the UK or Republic of Ireland pay ‘Home’ fees. All other students (including those from the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) pay ‘Overseas’ fees.
Bursaries and scholarships
There are various bursaries for high quality applicants. These may be available depending on your choice of course, your academic record, your country or your gender – there are several funding streams that may apply to you.
Research students are often able to apply for studentships or other funded opportunities – see our website for the latest information.
You can benefit from our international partnerships, as well as research council funding, to help you with your studies.

"Education is a privilege that not everyone has access to, which is why being awarded a scholarship to study for my master’s degree at Cranfield University felt like an extraordinary blessing. The financial benefit from the Women in STEM scholarship allowed me to focus on my studies without the stress of supporting myself throughout the MSc, creating an environment where I could truly thrive.”
